sometimes, okay most of the time, the only ones who understand me are my cats, God love 'em . . . there is a pleasure, sure, in being mad, but not by which mad (wo)men know [john dryden] . . . it is a common calamity; at one time we have all been mad [baptista manuanus] . . . they call me mad, while they are all mad themselves [titus maccius plautus] . . . there has never been any great genius without a spice of madness [lucius annaeus seneca] . . . no excellent soul is exempt from a mixture of madness [aristotle] . . . there is a thin line between genius and insanity. i have erased this line [oscar levant] . . . for me, insanity is super sanity. the normal is psychotic. normal means lack of imagination, lack of creativity [jean dubuffet]
